Phillip McCatty was born & raised in Kingston Jamaica, & is now a Mechanical Engineer residing in Ontario. He was awarded the 2015, 2016, 2017, & 2018 Jamaican Triathlete of the Year at the RJR Sportsperson Award Ceremony, alongside the nations top athletes in their respective sports.
In 2009, Phillip was casually introduced to the sport of Triathlon on a dare, with the full understanding that he had zero swimming ability. Coming from a Combat Arts background, this challenge was meant to serve as a minor cross-training exercise. The rest, as they say, is history.
Since then he has become a student of the sport & has strived for excellence in all 3 disciplines, applying his aptitude for analytical problem solving in the pursuit of perpetual improvement. He has competed both locally & across the Caribbean, working his way up the ranks & earning solid results. Phillip is looking forward to a successful 2019 season & beyond, as well as giving back to younger athletes in the next generation.
