Phillip McCatty was born & raised in Kingston Jamaica, & is now a Mechanical Engineer residing in Ontario. He has been awarded the Jamaican Triathlete of the Year (for 5 consecutive years 2015-2019) at the RJR Gleaner Sportsperson Awards, alongside the Nation's top athletes in their respective sports.
In 2009, Phillip was casually introduced to the sport of Triathlon on a dare, with the full understanding that he had zero swimming ability. Coming from a Combat Arts background, this challenge was meant to serve as a minor cross-training exercise. The rest, as they say, is history.
Since then he has become a student of the sport & has strived for excellence in all 3 disciplines, applying his aptitude for analytical problem solving in the pursuit of perpetual improvement. He has competed both locally & across the Caribbean, working his way up the ranks & earning solid results. Phillip is looking forward to a successful 2020 season & beyond, as well as giving back to younger athletes in the next generation.
